About 'New Life'

The relationship between a mother and her baby is precious and there is nothing that compares to the emotional power of the moment when a 'New Life' begins. Newborn babies are simply a blessing and a joy.

For the first time, we are celebrating 'New Life' and helping to raise money for RBWH Foundation by inviting you to design a charm that represents 'Joy of Life'. The competition is open to everyone no matter what age or background. You don't need to be a professional jewellery designer, you just need to be passionate about supporting our community and have a flair for jewellery.

About RBWH Foundation & Butterfly Ball

RBWH Foundation was first established in 1985 as the charity arm of Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital (RBWH), Queensland's largest hospital.

While RBWH is part of Queensland Health, funding from the government is limited and there is often no available dollars to pay for certain equipment, training and research that will ensure the Royal remains at the forefront of patient care and on the leading edge of new technology and treatment methods.

Over 530,000 babies have been born at the hospital since 1938, with around 4,500 being born there each year. The hospital is home to Queensland's largest and busiest Neonatal Unit which cares for approximately 1,500 premature and seriously ill babies each year.

The Harcourts Foundation Butterfly Ball is RBWH Foundation's longest running charity gala. In 2017, it is being held on 18 November at the Brisbane Hilton Hotel.
